3rd Trimester Checklist

It's hard to believe that in about a week I'll be in my third trimester. As my belly grows bigger by the day (pictures to follow I promise), and as I feel the new baby kicking, a giant TO-DO LIST pops into my head of projects I would like to have done before I enter the world of having 2 under 2.

Things I would like to accomplish before April:

  • Finish filling out Leo's baby book
  • Order prints of Leo's 1st year and finish his baby album
  • Rent or sell our house (we realize it will take a miracle - we're counting on Sts. Joseph & Jude here)
  • Buy & bury a St. Joseph statue in our front yard
  • Find a new place to live and move in by the end of March
  • Finish my huge project of sorting all of my childhood photos into 1 organized album
  • Interview contractors about insulating walls
  • Master 7 new recipes
  • Respond to Laura Dalton's lovely handwritten letter
  • Install newborn car seat (mid-late March)
  • Pack bag for the Birth Cottage
  • Purchase postpartum care products at CVS
  • Get recalled part installed in car (apparently Honda recalled a part of my car and will replace it for free)
  • Spend 15 minutes of detailed cleaning each day
  • Pray the rosary and say a novena daily
  • Finish decluttering and organizing basement
  • Throw away (or give away) 25 pieces of trash/clutter each day (can be as small as a receipt or as large as a piece of furniture)

Excellent goals! I am entering my second trimester and have almost identical goals! I am glad to see that maybe we aren't the only ones that have not had a single picture of Ben printed for his entire first year??? And his baby book basically teeters off after about 4 months..And ditto on the house. Contacted our realtor yesterday!

We are hoping to move AFTER the baby though..since we won't be staying close enough to keep my current OB and I would hate to change practices late in a high risk pregnancy.

Speaking of recipes, my dad got me the one armed chef....got any favorite recipes that I should try??

Great list! So soon!

Jamie: there is a tortellini soup recipe in that book I liked.

Jamie, I actually gave my book to a friend who just had a baby! I'm trying to go paperless, so right now the only cookbook I own is The Joy of Cooking. The rest of my recipes I find online and if they're good I'll record them onto a recipe card and stick them in my new recipe box (thanks Ben!) So I don't remember off hand which recipes I enjoyed from that cookbook...if I recall, there were some good crock pot ones in there. I'm a huge fan of the crock pot, especially with young children and a limited amount of time. Believe it or not, I only have about 20 proven recipes in my recipe box, so I tend to alternate between cooking the same meals. I'm trying to expand my recipe box though. I'll only stick a recipe in it if it's proven to be tasty and a keeper :-) Last year I only found 5 that were worth keeping!

And I should probably post a new blog entry on the 5 recipes worth recording, LOL. Maybe that will be my belated New Year's post ;-)

LOL I would love to see your 5 recipes. And that is a great idea...I have a heap of cookbooks I would NEVER use (just not my type stuff) and a recipe box full of who knows what..

I feel like between the extreme morning sickness/aversions with Ben's pregnancy that lingered up to getting pregnant again and then were of course made worse by this pregnancy I have been incapable of cooking a real meal for two years!! I can't even remember what I used to make!

Great list !!! I need to write out my New Year Resolution. I've thought of them and they are in my head but for starters I should get my cleaning index cards in order. You are on our prayer list too. A miracle can happen!!!
