Reflections on My 27th Birthday

I've been seeing this "Daybook" trend on a few blogs I read. I thought it was a great idea and decided to try it myself. Below are my musings for tonight, the evening of my 27th birthday...

Outside my window … it’s cold and quiet...tomorrow we're expecting 12-14 inches of snow...

I am thinking … I have accomplished a lot in 27 years...I am proud of myself and my accomplishments...

I am thankful for … all the warm birthday wishes...my boys and my husband...but especially for Leo today...what a sweet, darling, young boy he has become...I was just telling Ben how much I am enjoying little Leo's company these days...

I am hoping … nobody will go into labor tomorrow between 3pm and 11pm since I currently have no doula coverage at the hospital for that shift...

On my mind … Hoping our house will sell...my heart has been yearning to move on for so long now...hoping God will answer our prayer soon...

Noticing that … it’s nice to sit down and blog again...

A few plans for the week … had a nice birthday dinner with Ben, Boppy (Ben's dad), and the boys at the Olive Garden this evening...going to Boppy's house on Saturday, and then Chris Northway's house on Sunday for a family get-together...

From the kitchen … thankful that there are no dishes in the sink tonight...thank you Boppy for taking us out tonight! What a wonderful treat it was!

Around the house … toys are scattered on the floor, and I just drank a glass of warm apple cider after brushing my teeth...but it's okay tonight......tonight it's okay for me to get some rest and just not worry about that kind of stuff...

One of my favorite things … the end of the day, like this, when everyone is in bed, the neighbors are being quiet, there is silence throughout the house, and I can reflect on the day and be grateful...

A picture I am sharing … when I went over to the changing table this evening Elmo was lying on it with a diaper on...first I thought it was Ben playing a joke on me...then we realized it was LEO playing a joke on us...so I guess that means Leo can change Jules' diapers now? I love my 2 1/2 year-old's sense of humor...he makes me smile. Thank you, Leo, for the joy you bring us. Our family is better, our days are happier, because of you...

How wonderful! I'm glad your birthday was lovely. I'm so happy for you to be in a new, good phase with Leo. (And that's just the age when my John started to be a sweet pea again.)
