Our farm share has been pretty abundant these past few weeks, and we've received some vegetables that have forced me to get creative with my cooking. Normally when we receive kale, I'll saute it in olive oil and garlic. It's always tasty, but I could tell that the family was itching for something a little different. I found a recipe for "massaged kale salad" online, and I put my own spin on it. It would never have occurred to me that kale could taste so good raw.a head of raw kale (chopped)
1/2 a granny smith apple
1/2 a juicy pair
1/4 of a large red onion, chopped
1 cup of crumbled gorgonzola cheese
1 teaspoon of sea salt
1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
1/2 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup of dried cranberries
Rinse and dry kale, and then chop it into pieces. Put chopped kale in a bowl and sprinkle sea salt over it. Massage the sea salt into the kale for TWO MINUTES as though you were kneading someone's shoulders. You'll be amazed at how the kale reduces in size. Add your other ingredients and serve.

Do your kids eat these interesting meals? I'd enjoy cooking this way but John lives on five foods, so it would be a waste of my time, I'd end up cooking two meals anyway (really three meals since I cook meat for Chris, veggie for me).
Yes, they'll eat it on a good day. Leo eats almost anything...Jules is a little pickier.
