Mt. Wachusett KidsFest 2012

This weekend Ben was on his men's retreat, so I decided to make lots of plans for us in an attempt to keep my sanity!

On Friday night Auntie Josie and my friend Adrianne were kind enough to come over and keep me company. Auntie Josie was so kind to help me put the boys to bed (not an easy task) after she had already been on her feet all day working two jobs! I was so grateful! Joni nursed down easily, which was a huge blessing, so while Josie was putting the boys down, I was able to give Joni my undivided attention, which enabled me to nurse her down pretty easily.

When Adrianne arrived around 8 p.m. we watched 2 sections of the documentary entitled "More Business of Being Born."  Even though there was one part that was tacky, the information in this 4 part film is worth watching! I had written a review of the movie for my friends, so perhaps I'll include it in another blog entry.

On Saturday morning Grandma Jeannie came over with surprise early birthday gifts for Leo who will be 5 in a few days!  She got him his very first wrist watch!  He loved it!  And later we stopped at the local video game store, where Grandma Jeannie treated Leo to a very generous shopping spree...(the boys are playing their new Donkey Kong game which is how I am actually able to write this blog entry...so thank you Grandma Jeannie!)

And because Grandma is SO THOUGHTFUL, she rightfully anticipated that Jules would want one too!  :-)

We then took the kids to the annual KidsFest at the local ski resort. A fun time was had by all! Jules really liked the gymnastics mats, and was doing numerous somersaults!

There were also about 20 bouncy castles (no exaggeration) which the boys really enjoyed...

The highlight of the children's festival was the SkyRide...families were allowed to ride up to the top of the mountain on the ski lift!  First Grandma Jeannie took the boys up, and I was able to snap some pictures...Joni and I stayed behind. The entire ride was about 30 minutes!

Up, Up and Away!

Coming back around!

About to Land!

Grandma and the boys raved about the SkyRide and convinced me and Joni to take a ride too. I was a bit hesitant given how high up it was, and it looked to me like children could easily slip through the bars, but I was surprised to see other babies going up there...so I decided I'd strap her in my Ergo and give it a try!

Even though each seat could fit 4, the attendant told us that Joni counted as a person (even though she was strapped to me), which means we had to split up - so Grandma and Jules were in the chair in front of us...I was able to snap some pictures while up in the air!

Some really incredible views...
