Leo Benedict Urban was born this morning at 2:50 a.m. He weighed 9 lbs, 4oz and was 22 inches long. The birth was wonderful. My entire labor was 14 hours. My water broke at 9:15 a.m. on September 24th right after Ben had left for work (figures). My contractions didn't start until three hours later, which is why I say I was in labor for 14 hours as opposed to 17 hours. We labored at home until 5:15 p.m. and then left for the Birth Cottage. Leo was born at 2:50 a.m. on the morning of September 25th. I was able to have him naturally and without any drugs as we had hoped.
As you can see, I am already home! I was able to come home six hours after giving birth! I couldn't have done it without the help of my wonderful husband coach, an amazing doula, and two very skilled midwives. I also couldn't have done it without the birthing class we took, the Bradley Method of natural childbirth.
The midwives were absolutely amazing. I really can't say enough good things about them. Below are some pictures of the the room I gave birth in, and some of the facilities at the Birth Cottage in Milford, New Hampshire:

I thank God for a safe delivery, and for my beautiful baby son!
