This post is a bit overdue, but on Monday (Columbus Day), Leo and I attended the annual barbeque at the Abbey. The weather couldn't have been nicer. It was the perfect Fall day.
Ben's mother Christine (a.k.a. "Nana") also met us there along with Ben's siblings (Uncle Mike and Auntie Josie) which was a real treat. Unfortunately, Ben had to work on Columbus Day, so he missed all of the fun!
Below are some pictures of Nana with Leo (doesn't she look fabulous?)...

And if Leo wasn't already getting spoiled enough, my mom also attended the barbeque, so little Leo had TWO grandmothers there! I must admit that I truly enjoyed being able to socialize knowing that my baby was being well taken care of.
My mom (a.k.a. "Grandma Jeannie") walking with Leo...
Christine was nice enough to get Leo a wonderful wooden activity cube for his birthday which she brought to the barbeque for him (even though it is my mom who is pictured below, the gift came from Christine).
My good friend Adrianne was also at the BBQ with her adorable son James and her daughter Adriana. A few weeks ago we asked Adrianne and her husband Michael to be our new baby's godparents and they agreed :-)
The older children really enjoyed going pumpkin picking in the Abbey's hidden pumpkin patch! Below you can see (barely) Father Peter driving a truck with the kids in it after they chose their pumpkins. Behind the truck, you can see a few of the older children walking back carrying their pumpkins (it might help to click on the picture to enlarge it...sorry, that's as far as my camera would zoom!)

After the barbeque my mom took Josie, Leo and I to Babies 'R Us and surprised me with a beautiful double stroller (the Maclaren Twin Techno pictured below). I was so excited and thankful for the stroller that I have something totally embarrassing to admit - when I got home, I put Leo on one side of the stroller and a doll in the other and pushed it around the house (bag going over head right about now)...

It really couldn't have been a nicer Fall day. We cherish this time in New England since we know that the long chilly winter weather will be here any day now.

My confession: When I was pregnant with John and we put the car seat in the car toward the end of the pregnancy, I placed a stuffed animal (a giraffe) in the seat and strapped him in. The giraffe rode around in that spot until John came home from the hospital!
Great double stroller. I love that picture of me and James. I'm going to steal it. Thanks Rebecca.
