Bliss. Pure Bliss. We've waited such a long time for THIS!
This afternoon I met Ben at the new house with the children. The house is coming along nicely, and we're hoping to move in soon. Since Spring has truly sprung here in New England, I've been making daily trips to the new house just so the children can play in the yard. This afternoon Ben was there meeting the countertop people and the man who is going to connect the house to the town sewer system.

We have over 2 acres of land. The property is so lovely. We had never walked the entirety of it, so this afternoon we decided to do so for the first time.

An added bonus of our house purchase is that we have 2 sets of lovely neighbors whom we knew quite well already since they attend our church. Their children also attend the school we hope to send our children to. Our neighbors invited the boys to play in their yard while we were waiting for the workers to arrive at the house.

Ben and I couldn't believe our luck when we heard two of the little girls 'fighting' (well, they weren't really fighting, more like nicely debating whose turn it was) over who got to hold and play with Julius next. I am in a phase of motherhood where I am more than open and more than willing to allow nice girls to hold my babies, so I am really in luck with our house purchase!
Our neighbors gave us the nicest gift for Baby Joni - an embroidered baby blanket. Isn't it lovely? (Note: Last name blotted out of picture for privacy)

Then the children came over to explore our yard...

When it was time for them to leave (they had to go do Stations of the Cross), Leo cried. He won't stop talking about them!
...and I'll admit it...I got a little teary eyed myself...it's hard not to when I think about what God has done for us: Not only did He sell our old house (which truly was a miracle)...He delivered us from a house with the worst neighbors to a house with the nicest neighbors we could hope for.

To have mother's helpers as built-in neighbors. What a dream!
The boys are going to have the best time growing up there.
One more thing....Has Ben picked out his John Deere riding mower for that lawn?
@ Ashley - His cousin is moving to Minnesota, and took really good care of his John Deere, so we're considering buying his...we'll weigh the price he quotes us off of getting a cheaper brand (not Deere) brand new. Why do you ask? Do you have input? If so, by all means tell me!
Boys love toys, BIG toys! LOL Big boys and little boys love them. ;)
My FIL and husband bought a John Deere riding mower a couple of years ago (you know my living situation....similar to yours at the moment). I don't know why they chose that, but I know my husband doesn't make important purchases without first checking consumer reports. Probably, it had the best ratings.
The boys LOVE helping Grandpa mow. They have to take turns, and he lets them steer where it is flat and spacious. It's really cute.
Hi, Rebecca:
So good to see how everything fell into place for your beautiful family, after all the challenges. The land is wonderful and I'm sure that your children will have beautiful memories of growing up there!
