Leo, you precious lamb. You look exhausted from trying to crawl. Life shouldn't be so difficult at this age. But keep up the great effort...there is a light at the end...SOMEWHERE. :D xo Love, Grandma Jeannie

What great lifting up on all fours! So, what steps is his making toward crawling? I remember that John got stuck doing the Army crawl for a long time.

Katherine, he's not making very much progress at all, LOL. What you see in the pictures is about as far as he goes. We've tried putting objects in front of him, but he gets frustrated that he can't reach them. Poor little guy :-( It will take a lot of upper arm strength on his part to support his chubby little body!

I've heard that big babies crawl and walk much later because they have to develop so much more brute strength to haul themselves around. And your boy is a biggie! Seriously, he's probably only four pounds less than my 15-month-old, who isn't undersized or anything.

Sooo sweet and adorable! He always looks so happy and animated!

Katherine's point about big babies was true for my brother who looked just like Humpty Dumpty...or Alfred Hitchcock at that age and was well over a year old when he learned to walk. BUT my little nephew who is ALSO named Leo is a chubby (and gorgeous) little fellow and he started walking at EIGHT MONTHS!!! Not sure when or if he crawled. But Leo was a second child who desired to chase after his older brother.

My friend Sarah's first (perfectly normal) child didn't learn to walk till she was 18 months old. But her second (also normal) child learned to walk super early, like nine months or something.
