Leo Meets Jules

Many of you have been asking what Leo thinks of his new brother. It has only been a few days, but Leo is having a difficult time transitioning. We are making special efforts to give Leo a lot of one-on-one time with mommy and daddy. For example, Ben will take Leo to the playground while I stay home with baby Jules, and then when Jules is sleeping, Ben will watch him while I play with Leo in the playroom. Today I was having an especially difficult time managing both boys while my body is recovering from birth, so Ben called his Auntie Anne who came over to help me.

Auntie Anne had a wonderful idea. She suggested that we let Leo hold Julius. Initially, this made me nervous because I didn't want Leo to get into the habit of expecting to be able to hold Jules whenever he wanted...but Auntie Anne is the mother of 5 grown children and several grandchildren, so I decided to take her advice...

I'm so happy I did! I was surprised at how well Leo reacted to baby Jules when he was actually given the chance to look at him closely. (See video below)

They look so adorable together! Don't worry, Leo will adjust in time and so will you! You guys will work out the kinks and get into a groove for sure :-) Take advantage of Auntie Anne's help too! There is nothing like an extra hand those first couple of days. You'll recover much faster!
