After nearly 5 months of pursuing it, we finally closed on the house! As those of you who've been following our blog know, the house we had our hearts set on was a foreclosure, and was wrapped up in all sorts of investigations by various banks (due to stricter government policies regarding the sale of foreclosures) which caused the bank to move our closing date on us several times.
During the process, we always felt it was a 50/50 chance as to whether or not we'd wind up with the house. In the meantime, we continued to pray about it, and we continued looking at other homes. We kept coming back to this one because the location is so ideal, and it is large enough to house our growing family comfortably. In our hearts, I think we always knew it was the house for us. So thank you God for our Christmas present! The house needs lots of work and the former tenants have not yet vacated, so it could be months until we're actually able to move in (a special "shout out" to my father-in-law who is allowing us to stay with him until we're able to move in....we really could not have pursued this house without his generosity)...it's stressful thinking about how much work it will take fixing it up, but it feels really nice to know where our family will eventually end up!
