A Weekend of Rearranging

I was absolutely amazed that some of you actually noticed Leo's new playroom in my previous post of him crawling! Yes, last weekend was a weekend of rearranging.  Below is a picture of Leo's OLD nursery/playroom (he's always slept in the room with us, but we have a room which houses all of his toys, his changing table, clothing, etc). We decided to move his playroom to a different room in the house.

He certainly seems to like his new play area!  And thanks for the train Grandma Jeannie! As you can see, he loves it :-)

Our family was also very blessed to get an absolutely stunning Mahogany antique dining room set comprised of a table, chairs, dresser, and a matching hutch.  The Sisters didn't have a use for it, and we felt honored to give it a good home.  We hope to fill all of the seats frequently and get lots of use out of it! We thank the Sisters for thinking of us.

The hutch houses our collection of leather-bound books perfectly, while detracting attention from our not-so-stylish wooden wall...

I also finally got around to hanging Leo's 9 month portraits in the living room:

We even moved our master bedroom to a different room in the back of the second floor of our house. As a result of all of this rearranging, we were able to Freecycle many items we no longer need. It was a nice feeling at the end of the day to dine at our new table, to sleep in our new bedroom, and to know that our old furniture had gone to people who were very excited to have it! We got about 10 responses from people wanting to pick up our old furniture within 15 minutes of posting our ad on Freecycle! Leo is enjoying his new playroom, and I am enjoying every moment I pass by his adorable little portraits :-)

PS - And a special thank you to Grandma Jeannie and Grampy for helping us pick up the dining set from the Sisters and for helping us bring it home

What lovely rooms! So, is the play room on the ground floor or upstairs? The new dining furniture is just beautiful and I love your collection of leather-bound books! I'm chomping at the bit to look at them!

Thanks, Katherine! Leo's new playroom is upstairs. It will eventually become his bedroom when he's older. Right now it's really just a place to store all his clothing, diapers, toys, etc. I have a small box of toys downstairs that he can use when I'm in the office (which is downstairs) typing on the computer or when I'm cooking in the kitchen. The windows are really low in that room, but they latch from the top so they're childproof (a few people mentioned their concerns about those windows!) Our leather bound book collection was a very generous wedding gift to us from my Aunt Lise and Uncle Bob. The books are from Easton Press:
