Attention boy mommies - this morning I came across an unexpected bargain. I went to our local Toys 'R Us to make an exchange. While browsing through the aisles, I noticed that a large section of the boy clothes (sizes 2T-5T) were 75% off! Toys 'R Us isn't the first place that would come to my mind when thinking about shopping for kid's clothes, so I was very pleasantly surprised. The sizes run on the smaller side - I noticed that what they call size 2T is really closer to what most companies call size 24 months. I was impressed with their selection of solid colored and striped shirts (other boy mommies who read this blog might share my frustration regarding how it seems like the majority of boy clothes these days have cartoon characters plastered all over them...and girl mommies have it even harder in this department - doesn't it seem like every shirt has Hannah Montana on it????). Anyway, at 75% off I paid between $1.50 and $2.50 per/shirt. The pants were $2 each. All together I spent a total of $16! So the next time you pass by a Toys 'R Us, it might be worth stopping in!

I would never have thought to check for Toys R Us! Thanks for the tip. And, yes, I hate all the cartoon characters on clothing. I won't buy them or let my son wear them. I'm a scroodge. Oh well.
Did you notice if they had baby sizes too?? Ben I think must have had a growth spurt because suddenly everything looks floodish on him! But he wears 12month.
Jamie,
The rack that was 75% off was only sizes 2T-5T. There was a circular rack that was 50-70% off baby boy clothes, but the selection didn't look nearly as good...but maybe it's different depending on where you live?
Thanks for the tip Rebecca. James got some $ for Christmas. We are going to put it away for now but he will need some clothes sooner of later. I'll check it out.
