We're back from a wonderful Thanksgiving vacation on Cape Cod!
*A view from the house. Yes, we were totally spoiled.
My Aunt Lise and Uncle Bob were kind enough to rent a house across the street from them for us to stay in. My Aunt Laurie, her husband Steve, and her son Seth also stayed in the house with us. The house couldn't have been nicer. Each bedroom had a king sized bed, its own bathroom...we even had a walk-in closet and a view of the water. We were certainly living in luxury. My mother and her husband Jim also came, but stayed in a nearby hotel.
Below is a picture of my Aunt Laurie holding Leo:
Leo spent a lot of time running around Aunt Lise and Uncle Bob's porch. Grandma Jeannie was nice enough to get him some real sneakers (his first pair of hard soled shoes) from Stride Rite. It took him a little while to get used to wearing hard soled shoes, but after a few hours he was off to the races! (I think that might just be my favorite outfit of his too :-)

3 1/2 Urbans - me at 21 weeks pregnant...
On Thanksgiving morning we decided to take a long walk across town. We visited my grandfather's grave and paid our respects. Then we walked around town. We walked so far that we were sore by the time we returned.
Below is one of the pictures we took while on our walk...

We were once again spoiled by Aunt Lise and Uncle Bob's gourmet cooking. Below is a picture of the turkey which they brined the night before and basted every 15 minutes!

A lovely picture of my Aunt Lise and my godmother who came all the way from Ireland :-)
Ben and I also enjoyed our first evening date together since Leo was born! Fran, who was my babysitter when I was growing up, kindly watched Leo for a few hours while Ben and I went out to dinner. We went to one of my favorite restaurants, Ciro & Sal's. The atmosphere is very romantic. We were seated in an old wine cellar with a fireplace next to us. I also enjoyed the best meal I've ever had in my life (and I'm truly serious when I say that) - it was Ciro & Sal's veal marsala which I had never ordered before. Ben ate about half of my dish it was so good. I have been craving it ever since we left. Since we always take at least one vacation a year to this spot on the Cape during the summertime, I mentioned to Ben how nice it would be to go back to Ciro & Sal's this summer on a date and to get the veal marsala again. Then Ben reminded me that we would have a newborn in tow...for a second I had forgotten I was pregnant! Maybe if he is reading this he will consider getting me some take-out this summer while I'm at home nursing the new baby? :-)
