Many of you have been asking how we were affected by the storm. Our county got hit pretty hard, but we were very fortunate not to lose power or electricity. On Sunday morning we went to Mass (in the dark...just like the olden' days) and learned that we were one of only 2 families who had heat and electricity. We had some friends and family stay with us. It just so happened that I had gone grocery shopping the day before the storm so we had plenty to eat. We also played lots of games and watched a bunch of movies. Ben has been out of the office for almost a week now since his office is still without heat and electricity! It's been nice having his help around the house, but he's itching to get back to work since this is such a busy time of year for his company. Last night I taught a childbirth class and one of the couples in the class (they live near where Ben works) was told that they may not get power and heat back until the first week in January! As most of you know, we are close to the border of New Hampshire. The Ice Storm of '08 left HALF of the state of New Hampshire without power, and 350,000 Massachusetts residents without power making this storm go down in history. Below are some pictures of the damage which Ben took on his way to work last Friday. After walking into his freezing cold and pitch dark office, it quickly became apparent that work had been cancelled:

What incredible photos. It's so different to live in an area subject to REAL weather.
