Visit with Grandma Jeannie

Yesterday we enjoyed a long overdue visit from Grandma Jeannie!  The kids were disappointed about not being able to go to Davis Farmland the day before due to rainy weather, so I decided to use our passes the following day, and Grandma joined us. Leo and Jules enjoyed their first pony rides ever, and I was surprised to see that Jules, who is normally less adventurous than his big brother Leo, decided to hop on the pony first...Leo wanted to watch Jules do it first before he tried it, so he kept encouraging Jules...it was cute...I'd hear Leo saying things like "It's okay Jules, the pony won't bite you."  But as their mother, I knew what was really going on - Leo wasn't entirely sure about this whole pony ride thing and wanted Jules to be his "guinea pig!"

My mom and Jimmo found the COOLEST VINTAGE TOY CHEST EVER at a yard sale for $8 - old wooden blocks included!  All it needed was new hinges, which my stepfather Jimmo kindly replaced. My mom brought the chest out as a gift for the kids and they absolutely loved it. All three of them loved playing with the blocks!  Thank you Grandma Jeannie and Jimmo!

Grandma also got the children new Crocs which they modeled for us while sitting on the toy chest. Leo and Jules' change colors in the sunlight. They're nice looking and remind me of a boy-version of the Jelly Slippers I used to wear as a little girl.

We had a very fun day, as we always do with Grandma Jeannie!
