It's not a secret to my readers that the prior occupants of our home weren't the most respectful caretakers of the property. For example, the doors leading from the garage to Ben's office and down into the guest suite are so damaged from animals scratching at it that they were nearly beyond repair. However, I was determined to try salvaging them. I had been eying them for some time now, and this weekend the men-folk had to unhinge these doors in order to move a refrigerator down to the guest suite for me. So with the doors unhinged, today was my day to do this, even though the children's behavior on this rainy day was far from exemplary...these are 2 different doors, but the first one is a "before" photo, and you can trust me when I tell you the other one (shown in the "after" picture) had even worse animal damage!
