What's Growing

This is only my second year gardening, and so far so good!  While last year was more of a "trial run," and I was blessed with "beginners luck," this year I'm really only planting lots of what we like to eat! Lettuce, tomatoes, peas, lots of bell peppers, herbs...I'm trying to make my garden very practical.

Mr. U was very kind - he spent all day Saturday, with the help of his father and Leo, solving my weed problem - around the edges of the raised beds are difficult to mow, so after some research online, I decided I wanted to put weed paper down and then cover it with mulch. On Friday we had 3 cubic yards of mulch delivered, and Mr. U spent the afternoon wheelbarrowing mulch from the pile to the vegetable garden area. Leo was a huge help getting at getting the weed paper to stay put while Mr. U dumped the mulch. This took a very long time, as you can imagine, but it was well worth the effort!
