A Little Lesson on Being Happily Married

I've only been married for 8 years, so I don't claim to have any revolutionary wisdom on the topic of marriage...but I am happily married, truly, and one of the lessons I have learned is this: PICK YOUR BATTLES.

Exhibit A: Those darn couches. My readers may remember those darn couches that sit in my basement, getting musty, ruining my sense of orderliness and cleanliness?  You know, those couches that I've been trying to get rid of for 3 months now...that is until my father-in-law and husband decided that they'd make it their summer project to try and salvage them...

The first power washing seemed to really help, and then leaving them out in the sun helped to bleach them...however, the couches were forgotten about, and then we had several days of rain here, so they got muddy again...

Okay, now I'm truly burning them, I thought....I've won this battle.

That is...

Until yesterday, when I found Ben and his father outside with the couches...

So, I could have a). Yelled "stop it! they're such a nuisance! Let's just get rid of them! It's no use!"  or b). Let them have their fun. After all, they're only couches.
