Swim Camp - Day 1

Today was the first day of swim camp for the boys!  Our community offers FREE swimming lessons (well, we pay $1 per/child for a "book" at the end...so almost free) for children!  The program runs for THREE WHOLE WEEKS Monday through Friday. I realize we are very fortunate, especially after talking to friends who tell me this same type of "camp" would cost hundreds of dollars per/child in their towns!  This is one situation in which you don't get what you pay for! The quality of swimming lessons is exceptional, and the instructors are trustworthy and friendly.

While it's certainly challenging to manage 3 small children around a pool, what makes this something I look forward to is that I have several friends who do camp with us!  So I get to enjoy an iced coffee around the pool every morning for three weeks chatting with my friends while our kids learn how to swim...now do you understand why I spend all summer looking forward to this?

Jules is in Level 1 which meets in the kiddie pool. My friend Chrissy's son, Timmy, is also in Jules' class. Jules was fearless and hopped right in the pool despite the cold water. He had the time of his life! Especially considering since he was only 2 years-old last year, he had to watch his big brother Leo enjoying the water everyday while he had to sit on the sidelines.

At the end of the lesson in the kiddie pool the instructors throw a bunch of toys into the pool and the children try to "catch" the toys with little nets. This was Jules' favorite part.

Leo had a blast in the big pool with his friends Naomi, James, and Ellery!

And mama enjoyed chilling out on the sidelines with her cool friends and her cool cup of iced coffee!
