Last year Kate announced that she was moving to Minnesota due to a job offer her husband had received - a job that would better suit the needs of their family at the time. We were all very sad to see them go, and Kate and her clan are sorely missed.
Since both Kate and Jeff's families are out here in Massachusetts, Kate plans to come visit for 6 weeks at a time with the children during the summer. So we've been looking forward to Kate's visit for some time now...and today was the day she and her four children (plus cousin Sean and Ben's Auntie Anne!) stopped by our house!
Kate and her nephew Sean
Kate and her 6-year-old son Joe, our godson!
My boys were really excited to see everyone, and it was neat to observe how nicely our kids played together...it was as if no time had past since they saw each other, and they all appear to have similar temperaments...a family trait perhaps?
Jules (3) with cousins Joe (6) and Rosie (2)
One example of this would be Rosie (age 2) and Joni's (16 months) separation anxiety as proven in the picture below. Kate and I were standing in plain view, and yet both girls protested and wouldn't even pose for a 30 second photo!

Kate made a delicious fruit salad (where she found the time to do this while traveling with 4 children by herself is beyond me), and Auntie Anne (Kate's mom), enjoyed eating it with Leo and Jules.
We did manage to get some really nice photos of Leo, Jules, Sean & Kate's kids...
We had an absolutely wonderful visit with Kate and the clan, and I'm so excited that this is only the first of many other family get-togethers in the near future held in her honor! We'll be seeing her and her clan at another family get-together this coming Saturday, so stay tuned for another blog post!
