Epiphany Party

Last night we went to a wonderful party at the Murphy's house in Lancaster (the town next to Shirley) in honor of Epiphany.  Many of the people in attendance were parents, students, and teachers associated with the Trivium School in Lancaster which is one of the few classical Catholic schools in the country. The Murphy's house is lovely.  It used to be a Bed & Breakfast.  It's truly any child's hide-and-seek dreamhouse! The Murphy's have 8 children of their own, but they rent some of the rooms in their house out to Trivium students and teachers.

It was a pot-luck party, and there was definitely not a shortage of food!

We gathered around the living room and sang some traditional Irish Christmas carols.

Ben was especially into the singing:

Maggie, one of the Murphy's daughters, has a stunning voice, and entertained us by singing some Cole Porter songs (Cole Porter just so happens to be one of my favorites).  She sounded exactly like Ella Fitzgerald!

Anyone was free to jump in and join her:

My friend Adrianne snapped this shot of Leo and me.  And no, I am not wearing a fanny-pack! HAHA  That is my Ergo baby carrier around my waist! I took Leo out of it for a second in order to get a good picture!

The Murphy's party was a wonderful occasion to eat, drink, and be merry! We're so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful families.

The above comment was left by Ben for those of you wondering who "imurban" is :-)

Fantastic! My former parish in Sacramento, St. Stephen's (FSSP), hosts parties like that all the time. They're out of another era. So wonderful.

Great party. I can attest to Ben's joy for singing.
