Now I'm 'back-blogging' :-) Here's what was for dinner on Friday night. I made penne in a vodka sauce with sweet italian sausage. On the side I made a salad with grape tomatoes, red and yellow bell peppers, goat cheese, and my homemade balsamic dressing. I also always throw some dried cranberries into my salads. I think the dried cranberries are a nice added texture and taste :-)

Delicious! I absolutely love vodka sauce. Your pasta dish is a great idea to try for me and Chris because I can so easily add sausage to his half but not to mine.
My MIL adds dried cranberries to all of her salads too. ;)
By the way, does Ben know he's married to an amazingly dedicated gourmet chef of a recently postpartum wife?
That's sweet, Katherine. Before I had Leo, when I was working a 9-5 job, I was always too exhausted to make Ben dinner. He was so nice about it and never complained. I always told him that one day, when we had a baby and I was home full-time, I'd cook him scrumptious meals! It feels so nice to finally be able to do that for him.
PS - And I also don't care for italian sweet sausage, so I put it on Ben's and eat my pasta with just the sauce on it. It still tastes great :-)
