This afternoon Leo and I took a drive to the bank in Lexington, MA to make a deposit. The Lexington branch is the closest one to our house and it's 40 minutes away. We began using our bank when we lived in the Boston area, and even though there were no branches nearby our house when we moved to Central Massachusetts, there was one located near my office so it wasn't an inconvenience. However, since I stopped my job once Leo was born, going to the bank has become an inconvenience, and we will need to switch. I've been researching banks lately, and haven't decided which one to go with yet. My research has caused me to procrastinate so much that I finally just decided to drive to Lexington and deposit 5 checks (since this had been on my mental To-Do List for over a month now!)So Leo and I drove to Lexington to deposit the checks. Today happened to be a beautiful day in Massachusetts! It was 60 degrees and sunny, and all of the snow had melted! After a month of de-icing my car every time I had to get in it, bundling myself up, bundling up Leo, and trying not to slip on the ice, getting out of the house on this sunny day without snow was a piece of cake in comparison!
As we were driving through Lexington, I was admiring all of the beautiful houses. The bank was located right in the historic district. After we made our deposit, I decided that we should take advantage of the nice weather and go for a walk. So I put Leo in my Ergo baby carrier and we took a tour of historic Lexington. We walked for a little over an hour. Click here to see some of the things we saw!
Leo was on his best behavior and enjoyed the fresh air, so I decided to run a few more errands while we were out and about. Here are the items we were able to knock off of our To-Do List:
- Filled the car with gas
- Deposited checks at the bank
- Planned menu for the week
- Grocery shopped
- Got mail at the post office
- Paid bills
The reason that I post my To-Do List and what I accomplished today is because my mind has a tendency to focus on the things I didn't get done in a given day as opposed to focussing on the things that I accomplish. So even though I didn't get everything I would've liked done today, I still had a productive day, and I can try to knock a few more things off of my list tomorrow. The most important thing is that I met my baby's needs today. All else is secondary.

Yay, Rebecca! Sounds like a very nice day. Intellectually, I agree with you that meeting the baby's needs is primary, all else is secondary, but emotionally I struggle with that when my house is spiraling out of control!
