I still don't know how you get Leo to smile *and* coo on request! Amazing.

Hey, FYI, you'll feel a lot more comfortable if you reposition the ring of your sling so that the fabric crosses over your shoulder instead of falling against your neck. The ring should be high. I wore my Maya wrap wrong for months, as it is not that intuitive, in my opinion. Here is a photo from my blog with pretty good positioning:

However, my ring should be higher than it is. The fabric over my shoulder could be spread out even a bit more to distribute the weight across my back.

Thanks for the photo Katherine! I still haven't gotten the hang of the ring sling. I've always found it very awkward and uncomfortable. I love the concept though, and wish it worked better for us. Nothing compares to the Ergo, in my opinion. I was only wearing my sling because my Ergo was in the laundry. Did you find the sling awkward? When did John outgrow it? Leo feels too big for it now.

Oh, and the comment from "Ben" was really from me. I didn't realize I was signed in as him when I commented. But I'm sure you figured that out ;-) Ben really isn't the babywearing type. LOL

Kids last a long time in a ring sling. Forty pounds or something humongous. I often see two and three year olds in them, by then being worn on mama's hip. I loved my Maya for a long time as the sling I used while running errands because it was so quick on-and-off. Also, I didn't have the Ergo-perfection until John was six months old. :) Still, I like the snuggliness of the Maya. It might also be helpful when a woman is pregnant to carry the toddler on her hip.
