How did all of my laundry pile up the way it did? I just did three loads, and I've got two more to go! Oh, I forgot. I have a newborn who goes through a few outfits a day, I find myself having days (such as today) where I have to change my shirt 4 times (no, that is not a typo) due to being soiled in spit-up, and I am now using cloth diapers. No wonder I feel like I'm running a laundromat. As for my To-Do List (TDL), well, you might notice that I haven't posted a progress report in a while. This was not because I was busy tackling the things on my TDL. I didn't post my progress report, because I feel like I've gotten next to nothing done. Leo has entered a new phase where he only wants to be held. If I try to put him down for even a second, he cries.
Needless to say, I've had to get creative. A new friend of mine at my local LLL meeting taught me how to use my sling, and I've been using my Ergo more than ever. Just last night Ben saw me in a T-Shirt and asked if I had been working out, because my biceps were so big. As if I have time to work out! It's all from lifting my gargantuum baby boy who I'm guessing must now weigh 20 pounds. His appointment with his new doctor isn't until February 1st. Does anyone know how to fold laundry with a baby strapped to them?

Your boy is huge! John weighs ~21 pounds! It's very hard to do housework with the baby strapped to your front, but unfortunately you're probably stuck with that for three more months. There is a way to wear an infant on the back using the mei tai carrier. (Did you know that the Ergo is simply a Western mei tai?) See this website for some examples (scrool almost to bottom).

I've never done this but assume you would have to have Ben help you put Leo on your back. I just don't see how you could put a 3-month-old back there by yourself. But, ask around, because I never used a mei tai. You would need to use a real mei tai to put Leo on you back to get him *secure* enough; you could not use the Ergo yet.
Thanks, Katherine.
Yes, Leo is "A Moose," as my friend Amy says. He was 17 lbs at his last appointment, and that was a few months ago. His next check up isn't until February 1st, so by then I'll have an exact weight for him. He is currently wearing 9-12 month clothing.
Ummm...how 'bout not folding it? Make daddy fold laundry!
You're ensuring the happy and wholesome development of the next generation of taxpayers! He can help...
Best wishes to you!
After a while in the newborn months, I began reducing my laundry by wearing the same gross shirt all day as long as I was not going out in public. Then right before Chris came home from work, I'd change into a fresh shirt. Of course, I don't know what I'd do now that Chris works from home. ;)
Oh my goodness! Leo's a big boy! Jack is 13 months old, and he weighs MAYBE 22 pounds.
I have no suggestions re: laundry. I would just heap it into the basket or on the bed, wait for my husband to relieve me of baby-duty, then fold it.
