A Busy Day

Today was a very busy day.  Leo and I left the house at 9 o'clock in the morning for Boston and we didn't get home until 11 p.m.  Leo seemed to enjoy being out and about.  First we went to the bank in Lexington, and then we headed to Malden to visit an old friend named Ayesca whom I 'mentored' through Cambridge Family & Children services years ago when she was pregnant with her daughter Samara.  Ayesca and I have kept in touch, and it's hard to believe that her *baby* is now 5 years-old! It was also so neat to have Ayesca and Samara meet baby Leo.  Ayesca is married to Jon (Samara's father) and they seem very happy.  They have created a wonderful life together, and Samara was so very polite and charming.  It was also great to pick Ayesca's brain for parenting tips.  She has now become one of my mentors!

I was also planning on attending a talk in Boston at a professor's house from Boston College, but I had a few hours before the talk started, so I thought we'd stop by and surprise Grandma Jeannie:

And isn't it neat that Leo is, in part, so easily portable because he is nursing? Nursing makes life so easy! :D

This is so true...as a bottle feeder I can attest. Trying to estimate how many bottles and how much formula and packing it all up and keeping it fresh etc etc. And worrying you will be out longer than you planned etc etc.
