Yesterday we enjoyed a surprise visit from Ben's grandma Arlene from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin! Arlene was married to Ben's grandfather, Anthony (his mother's father). This was the first time Arlene met Leo. It turns out that Arlene's father's name was Leo!
Pictured above is Arlene, Ben, and Sister Margaret Mary (Ben's aunt) at the Sisters farm in Still River. Arlene stayed with the Sisters and helped them with some sewing projects.
I met Ben's cousin Kate, his Auntie Anne, and Kate's kids at the farm. Kate and I cooked lunch for all 12 of the Sisters and Father Mark, while Auntie Anne took the kids to help the Sisters with some weeding on the farm. I did this all with Leo strapped to me in the Ergo. This proved to be a good occasion for me to try wearing him on my back, which he seemed to like! After lunch, I took the kids for a walk out to the knoll. I really worked up a sweat trying to keep up with the kids with a 20 pound baby strapped to my back! It was quite the workout, but worth every bit of the effort! We all had a wonderful time, and it was so nice for Arlene to finally get a chance to meet little Leo!
