When you choose to name your child Leo in the year 2008 (according to the SSA stats, Leo is currently ranked #236), you barely expect him to meet another little boy named Leo, let alone another little boy named LEO URBAN! Furthermore, you don't expect that that Leo Urban is actually a distant relative of his!

So here he is. Leo Michael Urban. He is three years old, and from the picture looks like he has quite a charming little personality! So how is he related to our Leo? Here's the breakdown (I recommend you get out a pen and paper and make a family tree if you expect to follow along)...
Ben's paternal Grandfather Joe had a brother named Bill. Bill had three children, the eldest being Tom. This makes Tom Ben's father's cousin. Tom had two children named Judy and Bill. Bill is Leo's father. Is there a genealogy wiz out there who would like to tell me what this makes Leo Benedict (our Leo) and Leo Michael (there Leo) - are they 2nd cousins once removed?
Anyway, just thought I'd share! Keeping with our glorious popes theme, I guess next time we'll have to name our son Pius or Innocent just to be safe!
If Leo Michael's parents are reading this, we couldn't be happier to share the name with such a cute little boy! We'll have to keep exchanging photos of the boys as they get older, and we'll be sure to be in touch with you before we name our next child!

Rebecca, I am really good at this. Leo and Leo are third cousins! Ben's dad and Bill's dad are 1st cousins. Therefore, their sons, Ben and Bill, are 2nd cousins. So...THEIR sons, Leo and Leo are 3rd cousins.
